StompNotes, the Fresh Electro Dubstep Sound of Melbourne
Dubstep electronic
is a fresh music genre that has gathered a lot of followers in recent past
years due to more and more amazing artists who create amazing beats. One of
them is Ngatu AKA StompNotes, a fresh name in the industry, a dubstep electronic
music producer from Australia.
The one
everybody knows as StompNotes was born in 1992 in Australia and due to his
youth he has come up with a new flavor, taking the dubstep electronic music to
another level. Ngatu or StompNotes is from Melbourne, Australia and grew up in
a suburb called Noble Park. His parents are New Zealanders and this aspect ads
up to his flow and dub sound.
Ngatu did paid
dj gigs for private events due to his passion for sound and music, for mixing,
scratching and dropping the beat. However, he believed there’s more that he can
do with his musical innate talent. He first started making weird beats back in
2007, when he was only 15 and produced his first electronic beat in 2009 when he
came to be known as StompNotes. Why StompNotes? Because his music mixes violent
kick ass beats with fine key composition and smooth voices mixed in his own
flavor. The result is amazing!
He’s most
important influences that have put an imprint on his music are Flux Pavilion,
Crizzly, Borgore, Xkore, Modestep, Krewela, Gemini, Nero, Knife Party, Diplo and
other names of the dubstep industry that he respects. His tunes combine kick as
beats with chill voices that create this cosmic world of his music where everything
is possible. Reggae, electro, dub and hip-hop rhythm influences, kick as beats,
chill out sequences as well as cosmic sounding instruments best describe
StompNotes flavor. Long story cut short, StompNotes is “Stomp on the Track like
Notes on the Beat” as he himself describes his music.
Unconventionality,
suspense and surprise are also key ingredients of his dubstep records such as
Eloquence feat. Steph Christina and Everlasting with the flavor of MaggieB. Everything
is so unforeseeable with his tracks, you can never tell when the beat drops or
what rhythmical measures will come next. This is something 100% StompNotes.
We have to warn
everybody about the addictiveness of his sound and there’s everything for
everyone. Party tunes that drop the bass really bad, such as “Every Night”,
love songs in dub style like “I Want You” and other beats that everybody needs
to decipher on their own, like one of my favorite “Venomilli”.
And if you
believe this is not enough of StompNotes and you haven’t had enough of his dub
beats yet, you need to listen to some of his style remixes. Tyga’s famous “Rack
City” tune is one of the dopest electro dubstep remixes signed StompNotes.
If I made you curious enough already, then
